Ask the Expert: Megan Bronte

When it comes to capturing the magic of a wedding day, few people have a better eye than a wedding content creator. We spoke with Megan Bronte, founder of Pearl Haus Studio and Pearl Haus Bride, to hear her thoughts on the latest bridal trends, creating authentic wedding content, and the details that make a wedding truly unforgettable. From fashion-forward bridal styling to the jewellery pieces that shine on camera, Megan shares her expert insights for modern brides planning their big day.

How did you find your way into bridal content creation, and what drew you specifically to weddings?

My first job after college was as a bridal stylist. I started helping the store shoot content, which led to an internship at head office, and it all progressed from there.

What is your favourite part of the wedding day to capture and why?

Getting ready, always. It’s when everything starts to come together!

From your perspective, what’s the defining wedding trend of this year?

I think brides are stepping away from traditional expectations and leaning into a more editorial, fashion-led style. It’s less about following rules and traditions, and more about creating a day that feels personal to them, but also Instagram-worthy.

Are brides leaning towards minimalist refinement jewellery or statement jewellery right now?

I’d say brides are definitely leaning towards more minimalist pieces. It’s all about adding subtle details that elevate the look rather than overpower it.

Do certain metals, textures or stones translate better on camera?

Gold and pearls work best on camera, especially in natural light. They give a softer, more refined finish, whereas anything too reflective or intricate can feel quite harsh.

What are your must-have pieces of equipment for a full day of wedding content creation?

My trusty iPhone, my Canon G7X, and a vintage-style camcorder for a mix of formats. I also always bring portable lighting for darker moments, plenty of backup batteries, and lots of memory cards.

How do you balance capturing authentic, candid moments with curated detail shots?

I never want to interrupt real moments, so I let things unfold naturally and capture them as they happen. In quieter moments, I’ll step in to style and document the details in a way that still feels authentic to the day. It’s about enhancing what’s already there, rather than over-curating.

If you had to describe LILY & ROO in three words, what would they be?

Effortless, chic, and timeless.

Which LILY & ROO piece would you choose to represent your own style and why?

I can't decide but I love all of the bracelets. I love that you can wear them on their own or stack them. I switch up my style every day, so I love how versatile they are.
