There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes before a piece of LILY & ROO jewellery reaches you.

From selecting individual freshwater pearls to carefully putting each piece together, our jewellery is handcrafted by our small, all-female team in our London studio.

It’s a process that takes time, care and attention to detail, and one we’re incredibly proud of. Here’s a little look behind the brand and at the hands behind our handmade jewellery.

OUR STORY: HOW LILY & ROO BEGAN

LILY & ROO was founded by Brittany after more than a decade working within the jewellery industry.

While searching for jewellery to wear for her own wedding, she struggled to find pieces that felt delicate, timeless and beautifully made, without the traditional luxury price tag. So, she decided to create her own.

While you might know the finished pieces, you may not know quite as much about the people behind them.

Our team of over 20 women works together from our London studio, where our jewellery is handmade, finished, checked and packed.

Handmade In Our London Studio

Over 40% of our jewellery is handmade, including all of our pearl jewellery.

From attaching individual pearls by hand to finishing the smallest details on a necklace or bracelet, there are real hands behind every stage. Your jewellery doesn’t simply arrive with us ready to send out – our team is closely involved in creating the pieces you see online and preparing them for you.

The Finishing Touches

Attention to detail matters at every stage. Once a piece has been handcrafted, our team carefully checks the finish and finer details before it’s ready to be packed.

OUR FRESHWATER PEARLS, SELECTED BY HAND

Pearls have been part of LILY & ROO from the very beginning.

We work with genuine freshwater pearls, each naturally formed with its own subtle differences in shape, colour and texture.

What We Look For In A Pearl

Before they become part of our jewellery, our pearls are carefully selected by our team. We look at everything from lustre and shape to surface and colour, choosing pearls that complement one another beautifully.

Once selected, they’re handcrafted into some of our most-loved pearl necklaces, bracelets and earrings in our studio.

These natural variations mean no two pearls are ever exactly alike, making every finished piece unique.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS, CHOSEN WITH CARE

The same considered approach goes into the materials we use throughout our collections.

Recycled Precious Metals & 9ct Gold

From recycled precious metals and 925 sterling silver to 9ct solid gold, we choose materials for their quality, finish and ability to be worn and loved for years to come.

Where possible, we use recycled precious metals, alongside responsibly sourced materials and carefully selected suppliers.

Genuine Freshwater Pearls

Our freshwater pearls are chosen for their natural beauty and individual character. As no two pearls are exactly the same, subtle variations in shape, texture and colour are part of what makes each piece unique.

FROM OUR LONDON STUDIO TO YOU

Once a piece is finished, it goes through its final checks with our team before being carefully packed and prepared for its journey to you.

Whether you’ve chosen a pearl necklace for your wedding day, a personalised piece as a gift or something simply because you know you’ll wear it every day, the same care goes into preparing each order.

It’s one of our favourite things about working from a small studio, from making the jewellery to wrapping your order, we’re able to stay close to every stage.
