Behind the Scenes: The Everyday Collection Shoot
At LILY & ROO, we have always been known for the pieces that mark life's most meaningful moments - bridal jewellery, occasion pieces, and sentimental personalised styles created to be treasured.
With our new everyday collection, we wanted to honour that same spirit while introducing something a little different: fine jewellery designed to be worn far beyond the big occasions, in the quieter, everyday moments in between.
This is the story behind that collection, from first inspiration to final shoot day.
THE INSPIRATION
Every LILY & ROO collection begins with a feeling rather than a single design. For this collection, that feeling was simple: jewellery that could move effortlessly from a wedding morning to a Tuesday at your desk, without ever losing its sense of occasion.
We wanted to create pieces that felt timeless rather than trend-led, jewellery with the same quality, craftsmanship and sentimentality our customers know us for, but with a lighter, more versatile touch. Think the Wave Bangle, designed to be layered daily, or the Mini Twisted T-Bar Necklace, subtle enough for the office yet special enough for an evening out.
THE STYLING PROCESS
Once the designs were in hand, our focus turned to how they would be styled and photographed. We wanted the imagery to reflect real, everyday femininity, polished, but never overdone.
Our styling choices were guided by a few simple principles:
Versatility first
Every piece needed to work as beautifully on its own as it did layered, from a single Small Coin Star Necklace to a fuller stack with the Miniature Initial Necklace and the Five Small Pearl Necklace.
Wearability over statement
These are pieces designed for daily life, so the styling needed to feel effortless rather than staged.
Modern femininity
Soft, clean lines and a neutral palette let each piece. From Medium Double-Sided Pearl Drop Stud Earrings to Mini Teardrop Stud Earrings.
SHOOT DAY
On the day itself, the aim was simple: capture jewellery that feels as natural to wear as it looks. Neutral tones, soft natural light and minimal styling kept the focus exactly where it belonged, on the pieces themselves, from the fine detailing of the Small Diamond Style Personalised Disc Necklace to the quiet shine of the T-Bar Necklace in 18ct gold-plated.
Each piece in this collection is handmade in London using recycled precious metals and sustainably sourced pearls, in keeping with the values that have always underpinned LILY & ROO. That same care and craftsmanship went into every decision on set, from how the light fell across a Beaded Baroque Pearl Bracelet to how a Single Diamond Style Bangle sat against the skin.
THE RESULT
The everyday collection is our vision of jewellery that carries you through every chapter, from weddings and occasions to the everyday moments in between. It is not a departure from what LILY & ROO stands for, but an extension of it: the same sentimentality and quality, made for daily life.
